The division in the community was evident in the room: People in red shirts on one side and those wearing green on the other. The April debate centered around the Placentia-Yorba Linda School Board's proposal to restrict critical race theory in curriculum. Ultimately, a split board narrowly adopted the ban earlier this year. That division in the community – swirling around what's known as CRT, as well as other education-related issues – appears to continue this election season as two incumbents who voted against the ban face three challengers in the upcoming Nov.
